Strategy & Research Analyst

What You’ll Do

As a Strategy Research Analyst at Hoovest, you will work closely with senior team members to support strategic initiatives, market intelligence, and business development opportunities across the firm. Your primary focus will be on conducting research, analyzing industries and markets, evaluating potential opportunities, and preparing materials that help inform business strategy, partnerships, and growth decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on industries, markets, companies, and emerging trends to support strategic planning and business development initiatives.
  • Analyze market opportunities, competitive landscapes, and potential strategic relationships across a range of sectors and geographies.
  • Support the evaluation of new business lines, investment themes, partnership opportunities, and corporate initiatives.
  • Prepare research reports, briefing notes, presentations, and other internal materials summarizing key findings and strategic insights.
  • Assist with due diligence on prospective partners, projects, transactions, and business opportunities.
  • Track macroeconomic, industry, regulatory, and geopolitical developments relevant to the firm’s strategic priorities.
  • Work closely with senior team members to help develop strategic recommendations and execution plans.
  • Support the preparation of client-facing, partner-facing, and internal strategy materials, including pitch books, memoranda, and meeting briefings.
  • Collaborate across teams and functions to align research insights with operational, commercial, and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain organized records of research, analysis, and strategic project materials.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in strategy, research, consulting, corporate development, investment analysis, or a related analytical role is preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise written reports and presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with market research tools, business intelligence platforms, or financial databases is an asset.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness, and strong problem-solving ability.
